The Auckland suburb of Glen Innes has been at the centre of a model for development for some years and is continuing to go through a major overhaul of state housing and re-development. Neighbouring streets are being demolished and dwellings relocated as the community makes way for what is being sold as a new modern multi-cultural community.
Chantel talks about a transitional community, examining cultural shifts, and asserting the need to protest for the rights of future generations at a time when land and the idea of ‘home’ seems out of reach.
