Serena Stevenson in partnership with Fresh Concept

23 July - 13 August 2022

Online 3D virtual exhibition here.

Multimedia artist Serena Stevenson designs a story experience using video, photography, graphic art, interactive installation, workshops, events, online digital, and street art. Taking the audience into the never seen before intimate world of op-shopping from the hearts of the Tamaki community.

Serena Stevenson says "Preloved is designed to be both educational and entertaining. Engaging local communities in op-shop culture promotes a circular economy and lowers the ever-growing waste issue. Throwing away clothes and household items into landfill is not a good option for our environment and that's why we are promoting how much fun op-shopping can be."

This project is an ongoing conversation and has scope for far reach around Auckland, to document and curate the stories of the rest of Auckland's op-shop culture. With the aim to make op-shopping the general norm.

Serena Stevenson has over 20 years experience in advertising, marketing, story/film/video production and journalism. She is a creative entrepreneur with a passion for making a difference, uniting business and community through meaningful storytelling strategies and implementation.

Fresh Concept is a multidisciplinary creative placemaking and events agency. They work in both public and private sectors to bring a sense of community and place to a space, by facilitating the transition of spaces to places, individuals to communities, and stagnance to vibrance.

11 Mayfair Place, Glen Innes, Auckland

This project would not be possible without the support of Tāmaki Regeneration. Extra support for the exhibition provided by TGTB Charitable Trust through funding from Lotto NZ.
