Woven Industry explores contemporary woven design techniques through experimenting with colour and texture.
Czarina’s work is a connection to her heritage, amalgamating the craft taught to her by hertwo grandmothers – one Tongan and the other NZ European. Her process is to deconstruct woven pieces she finds interesting to understand how it was produced; then to reconstruct,using an alternative fabric or resample what she’s learned to create something entirely new.
Woven Industry is an exhibition of past and recent works that Czarina is excited to present for the first time to her local community.
