SOMETHING NEW

Wiremu Cowell, Esther Ducai, David Makea, Stuart Rarere, Cathedral Waihi

10 - 26 August 2023

SOMETHING NEW is an exciting group exhibition of local artists living in Tāmaki showing their artwork publicly for the first time.

Wiremu Cowell is GI hard and a proud Māori. The main messages in his art is to show his love for his culture, the strength of his people, and respect for their traditions.

David Makea (ACKO) considers himself more of a ‘doodler’ and ‘muck around’ artist but is inspired by friends to focus on his passion for art and find opportunities to display it publicly.

Stuart Rarere is a local artist from the Cook Islands.

Esther Ducai is a local mum, volunteer and sometime artist. She has lived in Glen Innes for 30 years and you’ll find her in local coffee shops or St. Mary’s where local women meet to chat and support each other or at the local basketball club with her kids.

Cathedral Waihi (C-Bricks) is a 13 year old Lego enthusiast who loves to dream and create.

11 Mayfair Place, Glen Innes, Auckland

This exhibition is proudly supported by TGTB Charitable Trust.
